Melinda is a woman living in long term recovery in Minneapolis, MN. An adult child from an alcoholic/dysfunctional family, she began her journey toward recovery in 2015, first addressing emotional sobriety before looking at her use of chemical substances. A professional chef for over 20 years, she graduated from Metropolitan State University in 2020, having focused on mental and chemical health in restaurant environment. She is now a certified peer specialist and addiction counselor. An advocate, ally and believer in harm reduction, Melinda’s experiences allow her to make valuable contributions to the progress of individuals seeking motivation, hope, and wellness in recovery.
